I hold a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Music, May 1996. I graduated with honors and immediately began teaching privately. My expertise includes Art Song, Opera, Music Theater, Jazz, and Sacred Solo Song. I have been teaching private voice and piano since 1996. I love guiding people of all ages to vocal freedom and piano proficiency.
I enjoy acting, and have participated in many theatre productions over the years. Past roles include Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Maria in West Side Story, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, Laurey in Oklahoma!, Julie Jordan in Carousel, Sister Mary Amnesia in Nunsense, Irene Molloy in Hello, Dolly!, and Glinda/Aunt Em in The Wizard of Oz, to name a few. My favorite role, however, is that of Mom to my four amazing children. Motherhood is my top priority.
In an effort to make a difference in my hometown, I partnered with other local citizens and established an arts council in 2014. The Troy Arts Council has striven to provide quality arts opportunities for our community and enrich the local culture with those opportunities. Most recently we have offered a summer musical in the city park, which has been well-received. It has been a joy to be part of this growth process in the hamlet of Troy.

Student Accomplishments
My students have accomplished much and have excelled in their craft. Many have won contests and competitions, scored well in adjudications, and have been cast in principal roles in a variety of venues. Countless studio members have gone on to pursue college careers in music and have received substantial scholarships to those colleges. My greatest inspiration as a teacher, however, is seeing my students use their art to bless others. When they understand that their gifts are to be shared and they are not afraid to do so, my work is accomplished.
